Are you interested in Outdoor Recreation, Wildland Conservation or Nature-based/Adventure Tourism? Have you ever wanted to study in the midst of one of the World's greatest wilderness regions? The Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management (ORTM) Program is uniquely situated in Northern British Columbia, only a short drive from the Rocky and Cariboo Mountains.

Undergraduate Studies

You can pick the path of study that best suits your interests. We offer two degree programs within the Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management Program. If you are interested in protected areas, conservation, outdoor recreation or natural resource management -- consider taking a BSc Conservation Science and Practice with a major in Wildland Conservation and Recreation (formerly a BSc in Natural Resources with a major in Outdoor Recreation and Conservation). Perhaps nature-based tourism, tourism marketing or indigenous and cultural tourism interests you more? If this is the case, follow the path to a Bachelor of Arts in Nature-Based Tourism Management.
Diploma Completion Program for the BA in Nature Based Tourism Management
Have a 2-year diploma in Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, Tourism, Sport or Recreation Studies, Commerce, Geography or another similar field? If you have a diploma with a minimum of a 2.00 cumulative GPA you are eligible for a 60-credit-hour program of study at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø to receive a BA in Nature-Based Tourism Management. Maybe you are thinking of pursuing international studies, commerce, forestry, fish and wildlife or any of the other great degree programs on campus -- if so, consider taking a minor in recreation and tourism or just drop by for a class or two. Graduate Studies

Graduates of the Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management Program can expect to gain employment in a wide array of fields including: tourism policy and planning; recreation planning and management at all levels of government; National and Provincial Parks; and within the commercial tourism industry.

The Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management program capitalizes on the unique location of ÂÜÀòÉäÇø by offering degree programs which pride themselves on small class sizes, close contact with faculty, and courses which are relevant to recreation and tourism in Northern BC, Canada and on an international scale.
