Grad Teaching Excellence Awards
Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) Awards are intended to recognize and acknowledge the effort that GTAs put into their teaching while they themselves are students. Any student who has held a GTA position during the semester of nomination is eligible. Two awards are given out in both the Fall and Winter Semesters. Winners of the GTA Awards receive $150, a certificate of recognition, and their name is posted on the CTLT website under “Previous Recipients.â€
Instructions:
Nominations must be signed by at least three students, and faculty members may also sign the nomination. Each nomination should be accompanied by a letter that addresses the award criteria listed below. Completed forms and attachments should be sent by email to the CTLT. Nominations are due by November 30 and March 31 for the Fall and Winter semesters respectively.

- Why do the nominating students believe the Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) to be exceptional in aiding and supporting learning?
- How has the GTA demonstrated clarity and effectiveness in instruction and assistance to students?
- How has the graduate student teacher/teaching assistant motivated and inspired students to learn?
