Immigration and Visas

It is your responsibility to acquire the correct visa and study permit before you arrive in Canada and to ensure all immigration documents remain valid during your studies at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø. Failure to do so can have significant impacts on your future immigration status in Canada.

Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) and Electronic Travel Authority (eTA)

Individuals from many countries can travel to Canada and study here without a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or study permit for up to 6-months. If you are from one of , you can travel to Canada for a maximum of 6 months without the need for a TRV. If you are flying to Canada, you will most likely need to apply online for an eTA.

If your country of citizenship is not exempt from the TRV requirement and you wish to study in Canada for less than 6-months, you will then need to apply for and be approved for a TRV before travelling to Canada. A TRV gives you permission to travel to and enter Canada.

Study Permit 

All students who plan to study in Canada for greater than 6 months require a study permit.

Renewing, restoring or extending your study permit 

It is very important that you are aware of your study permit's expiry date. We suggest you start the renewal process 6-months in advance of it expiring to ensure you have lots of time for the process. Students extending their study permit will need to request a Confirmation of Enrolment Letter to accompany their application.
