ITS Maintenance Digest - Week of October 23rd to October 29th
ITS Maintenance/Information for this week:
This is your weekly digest of system maintenance/information and downtime. All notices are also posted on the myÂÜÀòÉäÇø Student Portal, our.unbc. ca for Employees, support.unbc.ca and on unbc.ca /its. Please see one of these locations for maintenance notices.
ITS Maintenance Notice: Tuesday, October 25th || 8:00pm to 12:00am
Wireless AP Upgrades: ITS will be performing upgrades and maintenance on the Wi-Fi, access will be down in different areas for up to 20 min. as each AP is updated
Note: This will affect ALL ÂÜÀòÉäÇø buildings including those in the Regions and downtown
ITS Maintenance Notice: Thursday, October 27th || 10:00pm – 11:00pm
Updates to the login page: users will experience connection interruptions to the following systems:
- Banner (banner.unbc.ca)
- Fast (fast.unbc.ca)
- SSB (ssb.unbc.ca)
ITS Information Notice: Equipment E-Waste Collection || October 25th to October 27th
ITS will be conducting an equipment e-waste collection from October 25th to October 27th . Please bring any outdated or unneeded ÂÜÀòÉäÇø assets such as computers, workstations, laptops & monitors to the IT Service Desk located on the second floor of the Teaching Lab, room 8-264. ITS will handle the disposal of this equipment safely and securely.
If you have the following models please note, these are well past the end of life and are no longer supported by ITS:
Towers
- OptiPlex 900 series
- OptiPlex 9000 series
Laptops
- Latitude E6000 series
- Latitude E7000 series
Monitors: Any monitor with the Green Asset sticker that is less than 38000 is not compatible with new equipment.
ITS Information Notice: Microsoft will be retiring support for iOS 13 and Mac OS 10.14 on the To Do iOS and Mac applications.
Microsoft recommends updating to version 14 and above for iOS and 10.15 and above for MacOS to continue using the To Do application on your device. If you do not upgrade to the newest version you will no longer be able to use the To Do application.
Note: If automatic upgrades are not set up on your device, please visit the links below to upgrade your device.
When will this happen?
This change will go into effect mid-November.
