Accounting Courses In Prince Rupert

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø will be offering a pair of accounting courses in the Winter semester that can either be applied to a Bachelors of Commerce degree or recognized accountant accreditation.

Intermediate Financial Accounting (COMM 311) and Accounting Theory (COMM 410) will be offered Tuesday and Monday evenings respectively. The courses will be taught face-to-face by ÂÜÀòÉäÇø professor Chris Wright, who has a PhD in Fisheries Management and Accounting Systems.

The courses provide credit for students working toward accreditation as a certified general accountant, chartered accountant, certified management accountant, or certified industrial accountant.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø will also be offering a first-year First Nations Studies course in Prince Rupert next semester. The Tsimshian language course will be taught Wednesday evenings. Nisga'a language and culture courses will also be offered in Prince Rupert through the Wilp Wilxo-oskwhl Nisga'a.

Thirteen courses will be offered in Prince Rupert, Terrace, and Kitimaat Village during the Winter 97 semester, which will run from January to April. Registration is now underway.

Students in Prince Rupert with access to the World Wide Web will also be able to take four ÂÜÀòÉäÇø English courses in January. The courses mark the first time ÂÜÀòÉäÇø will make courses available on the Internet.
