Each instructor and personal trainer brings a unique approach to teaching and training that will encourage and motivate! Brent, Jacob
Personal Trainer
Amateur boxer Jacob Brent is a certified Box and Burn level 1 and 2, Animal Flow level I, Darby Training Systems Kettlebell Coach, Darby Training Systems Conditioning Coach, and canfitpro personal trainer. His is currently working on his Precision Nutrition level 1 certification.
Jacob began martial arts training when he was eight years old and the passion has grown throughout his life. Over the past six years, his focus has been primarily on boxing. If you would like to box, become more athletic, more coordinated or increase your longevity, Jacob is your style of personal trainer!

Jessica is one of the newest additions to the NSC fitness team. She is a certified personal trainer through CSEP bringing over seven years of experience to the role. Jessica is passionate about helping women reach their full potential in the weight room and believes that building strength is a powerful tool to build confidence and improve overall health.
As an evidence-based trainer, Jessica will guide participants through effective strength training techniques, proper form, and progressive overload in her registered program Intro to Strength Training. She's committed to helping you achieve sustainable results and a healthy, yet enjoyable lifestyle.
Chambers, Leah
Yoga Instructor
Leah joined the Northern Sport Centre as a certified RYT簧 200 yoga instructor back in 2019. She brings over a decade of dedication to the practice of yoga.
Her journey began in Asia and has flourished around the world, enriching her teaching with global perspectives. Leah seamlessly integrates her extensive experience as an academic instructor with deep cultural awareness to craft yoga classes that are both engaging and inclusive. Passionate about fostering physical and mental well-being, she is committed to creating a welcoming and inspiring environment for all her students.
Giannisis, Vivian
Yoga Instructor
Vivian is certified (RYT-500hr) through the South Okanagan Yoga Association (SOYA). Her goal is to make yoga accessible to as many people as possible. She is always updating her skills through training and education. Vivian has developed a unique style of peaceful yoga that is an extension of her warm and welcoming personality. Her soothing voice gently guides students through poses that challenge the body while calming the mind. Vivian teaches Yin Yoga, Yoga, Yin Yoga Fusion, Gentle Yoga and her classes are always full!
Goggin, Ethan

Ethan is a certified personal trainer through ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association). His interest in fitness began as a teenager competing in sports where eventually a passion for fitness overtook his passion for sports! Using his own fitness journey as an example, Ethan is committed to clarifying the overwhelming amount of information out in the marketplace to ensure a positive and results-based experience for his clients. In his free time you will find Ethan enjoying the great outdoors and training for bodybuilding.

Personal Trainer
Lon is a certified Personal Trainer Specialist and a Healthy Eating and Weight Loss Coach thru canfitpro. His focus is strength training, core strengthening, Plyometric movements and calisthenics. Lons training approach goes beyond counting reps creating an experience that results in positive change for his clients. He teaches Core Fit and Fit Camp in addition to serving on the NSC team of Personal Trainers.
Hogh, Kathleen
Fitness Instructor
Kathleen is a Certified 1st Degree Black Belt NIA Teacher and a Licensed Zumba Instructor. She has specialized in teaching dance-based fitness since 2004. Prior to that she was a keen participant in aerobics and circuit training fitness. Kathleen was inspired to take up teaching after experiencing her first NIA class in 2001. She believes that the combination of fitness and a healthy lifestyle builds mental and emotional health. Kathleens NIA Dance Fit classes are fun, interactive, and can be adapted to any fitness level.

Charlene is a YMCA-certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Since 2021 she has also served as strength and conditioning coach for the PG Canadian Sport School since 2021.
Charlenes approach to fitness is is motivating, fun, and high-energy the perfect environment to help you reach your strength and fitness goals. She creates exciting and challenging workouts that not only incorporate new moves but also utilize tried and true workout moves that everyone can do. Take any of Charlene's classes and leave with a smile on your face and sweat on your brow!

Rebecca is a canfitpro Certified Group Fitness Instructor and BCRPA Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor. She has been teaching with us since 2016. Rebecca is also working on her Personal Training certification. A hard working grandmother and mother, Rebecca proves its never too late to get into shape. She loves being at the gym - her commitment, enthusiasm and drive are contagious!
Le Morvan, Benita
Zumba Instructor
Benita has been Latin dancing ever since she travelled to the Dominican Republic as part of a high school exchange. Her many years performing in a belly dance troupe made her move to Zumba a natural one. She loves the mix of musical movement and fitness. Benita received her Zumba certification in 2014. Her approach to this energizing fitness program is simple - just move your body and have fun!
Mailloux, Jocelyn
Fitness Instructor
Jocelyn is a canfitpro Certified Group Fitness instructor and certified Kettlebell Personal Trainer. Her enthusiasm and love for fitness exudes around her as she motivates people to accomplish their goals. She started her career as a HIIT Instructor in a boutique fitness facility for women in downtown Toronto. Eventually, she decided to follow her passion in outdoor recreation and moved to BC, training mainly firefighters from her fire crew and Functional Fitness at a local gym. Her workouts are tough but she offers modifications for all levels and injuries. As a HIIT enthusiast her motto is "there is nothing you cant do for 20 seconds!"
Marshall, Denise
Yoga Instructor
Many will recognize Denise from her Customer Service Rep role at the Front Desk! Denise is a Prince George Lululemon Yoga Ambassador. She received her training from the South Okanagan Yoga Academy (SOYA) and has achieved the 500hr YT designation. Denise brings a modern and honest spin to her teachings to help you find your yoga on and off the mat. She brings teaching expertise to many yoga practices including pre- and post-natal, youth, aerial and more. A true northern gal she loves the outdoors and taking in all the adventures!
Maritsch, Marshall
Personal Trainer
Marshall is an ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) certified personal trainer, as well as a certified bodybuilding specialist. His focus is muscle hypertrophy and strength training. Marshall believes in a "back-to-basics" training approach that makes it both welcoming to new athletes, yet time-tested and effective for more seasoned individuals. Whether you are a total newbie, or an experienced lifter, Marshall will build you the best program to get you the gains you deserve.
Milburn, Paz
Fitness Instructor
For over twenty years, Paz has been one of our citys most enthusiastic dance and group fitness instructors. She is a certified Zumba, Tai Chi and Tae Kwon Do instructor and a popular dance teacher! Paz shares her passion for active living with the community including the YMCA and the PG Arthritis Society. Her exercise philosophy consists of three components: cardiovascular, strength and flexibility. We are thrilled that Paz has come to the NSC to teach Tai Chi and Cardio Dance!
Monsen, Laurie
Fitness Instructor
When it comes to certifications Laurie has most of it covered! She is a BCRPA (BC Recreation and Parks Association) Certified Personal Trainer, Weight Trainer and Advanced Group Fitness Instructor. She also holds a Sport Nutrition Advisor designation with AANH (Alive Academy of Natural Health). Laurie is Keiser Spin instructor certified. She brings over thirty years of experience in the fitness industry.
She taught public school physical education, youth team training and group fitness. Laurie is a motivating instructor that will give you that extra push towards your goals. Laurie can be found at the Northern Sport Centre almost daily with her personal training clients or leading registered programs.
Nelson, Brook

Brook is a CSEP certified Personal Trainer who returns to the Northern Sport Centre fitness team after a short hiatus! In addition to resuming personal training, Brook will teach registered programs Barre, Postnatal Fitness and Prenatal Fitness. As a mother to a busy toddler, Brook is passionate about womens fitness, particularly post natal.
On the drop-in fitness side of the schedule, Spin and Boomer Fit will be on her class list. In Brook's spare time she coaches gymnastics and loves living an active lifestyle with her family.
Ogasawara, Sherry
Fitness Instructor
Sherry is a certified canfitpro Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. She holds several other specialty certifications including Zumba, Strong Nation, Pound and Pound Unplugged. She teaches Pound Unplugged and Strong Nation at the NSC.
Sherry has presented for BCRPA, canfitpro and IDEA World. With over 30+ years of experience teaching, training and sharing, she has connected with and impacted many with her dynamic approach, boundless energy and philosophy of learning through laughter.
