Provincial tuition waiver program
Tuition for former youth in care will be waived for B.C. students who are attending a B.C. public post-secondary institution who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the application form below. This program is open to students pursuing programs that lead to a certificate, diploma, or undergraduate degree. Students enroled in graduate programs or post-graduate courses are not eligible.
Students who wish to be considered for the waiver while studying at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø must complete the application form below and return it to the ÂÜÀòÉäÇø Awards and Financial Aid Unit located within the Office of the Registrar.

Youth Educational Assistance Fund (YEAF)
If you have spent time in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), or an Indigenous Delegated Agency, you may be eligible for up to $5,500 per academic year. Completed applications should be emailed to awards@unbc.ca.

Youth Futures Education Fund (YFEF)
This joint funding assistance between the and ÂÜÀòÉäÇø is available to students who qualify for the post-secondary tuition waiver for former youth in care.

Agreements with Young Adults (AYA)
This assistance can help if you have been in foster care or had a youth agreement and can help contribute to other costs associated with post-secondary education such as childcare costs, housing or health care.
