An occupational therapist helps people to develop or restore the skills they need to do everyday activities in their life, which may have been affected by injury, disability, or illness.
Skills affected can include activities related to self-care and living independently, recreation or work life.
Occupational therapists work in a wide variety of settings, such as hospitals, schools, community health centres and workplaces, and are often part of a multi-disciplinary team.
